Airport Area Accident History:
The pilot said he was taxiing to runway 19
for departure. The reported winds were from 190 degrees at 18 knots gusting
to 26 knots. The pilot taxied to the end of the runway after performing all
the preflight checks and he turned to a downwind direction to check for
landing traffic. As the airplane turned, the right wing began to rise and
the airplane nosed over, bending and wrinkling both wings, the empennage,
and the rudder.

The student pilot was practicing touch-and-go landings on his first solo
flight. After one successful touch-and-go landing, he made a second
approach. He maintained 65 knots, lowered 30 degrees of flaps, and followed
the glide path. After the airplane touched down on the main gear, it
ballooned and the student pilot applied slight forward pressure on the yoke.
The nose gear and propeller struck the ground, and the airplane bounced back
into the air. He lost control of the airplane as the nose gear and propeller
struck the runway several more times. He braked heavily, and the airplane
skidded to the side of the runway before stopping.

The pilot said he was taxiing to his hangar after a local flight. As he
taxied, he noticed a pickup truck parked in front of a hangar, which
required him to deviate left to maintain taxi clearance. During his
manipulating the rudder pedals to steer the airplane, his left foot got
caught on something, and the airplane veered 180 degrees left. The airplane
impacted a hangar denting the outer 3 feet of the left wing to the spar,
damaging the aileron near the inboard hinge, and separating the wing root
from the fuselage by approximately 1 inch. The pilot said he was wearing
hiking boots and he believes they impeded his ability to manipulate the
rudder pedals.

The operator reported that the pilot was taking a Civil Air Patrol check
ride. He was demonstrating a short field landing to a designated spot and
tried to stretch the glide of the airplane. This allowed the airspeed to
dissipate to the point of stall. The airplane bounced hard on the runway and
a go around was executed. After flying to another airport and making a full
stop landing, damage to the airplane's firewall and fuselage was discovered.
